01 - 06 June 2010 Subject - National follow-on by Gloucester Centre The Gloucestershire Centre extends an invitation to all Centres of the South West Region to a National follow-on at the picturesque North Cotswold town of Chipping Campden. The main street through Campden is described as one of the prettiest in the country. The town hosts it’s annual Robert Dover Cotswold Olimpicks on Friday evening, June 4th, at Dover Hill – Games, Races, Firework Display and Torchlight Procession. See www.olimpickgames.co.uk for more details. Scuttlebrook Wake Procession and Street Fair on Saturday afternoon. Our rally is situated at Chipping Campden Cricket Club, a quiet picturesque site on the edge of this small town. Excellent National Trust properties at Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor and Chastleton House close by. Otherwise a chance to relax in this beautiful part of the Cotswolds. For all Centres heading back south, this is an ideal stopover from the National. Rally Commences: 11.00 a.m. Route - From National (Weston Park), take M6 south and then M5 south. Leave M5 at junction 6 (Worcester North) onto A4538 and then A44 southbound towards Evesham and Oxford. Around Evesham bypass (A46) still following signs for A44 Oxford. Rejoin A44 towards Broadway and in approx 5 miles, at roundabout, exit left onto B4632 for Willersey. Continue on B4632 through Weston-sub-Edge towards Mickleton, and then take a right onto the B4035 s.p. Chipping Campden. Enter Campden and follow main road towards the town, and look out for a left turn into Cidermill Lane and then left into Station Road. Continue down Station Road, passing Berrington Road on the left, and then leave the B4035 by turning left s.p. Ebrington. Cricket Club is on the left in approx 300 metres. Rally details: |
