Whistle Inn, Blaenavon, South Wales  (The “Big Pit”)   Feel free to explore Welsh Heritage sites and join us for the last bank holiday of the summer on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National park, the site is behind the pub, from which you can take the train (maybe a steam train) on the Heritage railway to the town where you will find the “Big Pit” National Coal Museum, Iron works, Heritage centre, Rhymney brewery. There are a number of lakes to stop at & watch the wildlife, also the Brecon canal is a short drive away. On the nearby Industrial Estate there is a caravan shop that sells new & used parts. The pub is good value with great home cooked food & a selection of beers, ciders & spirits. So join us for a relaxing weekend in the Welsh Mountains.

Route. M4 Junc 24, north on A449 (Monmouth), west on A40 (Abergavenny), onto A465 west (Merthyr Tydfil), take A467 (Brynmawr) & then B4248 (Blaenavon), in approx 2.5 mile turn right into lane & onto the pub & site (pub is signed on the B4248)
