RALLY No 11 Friday 10th May- Monday 13th May 2024

STONEHENGE - Salisbury

Alpaca Farm Visit

This Rally is our second visit for the East Dorset Centre and your opportunity to visit an Alpaca Farm.

We will be using the award-winning Stonehenge Camping Site.  The beautiful site is the nearest to Stonehenge.  The site is fully landscaped with ancillary support services including heated Shower, WC Block & Dish washing area and a small shop.  The site is also quiet, peaceful, secluded and is level with good access to A303 & A36 and is OPEN all year round.

The campsite is an ideal touring base for Stonehenge, Longleat, Bath, Wilton, Salisbury Cathedral, Avebury, Devizes and local attractions in Wiltshire and the New Forest.  There is a bus stop immediately outside of the site – with a two hourly scheduled to either Salisbury or Devizes.

Facilities close by - The Boot Inn @ Berwick St James, Salisbury, Wiltshire and The Bell Inn at Winterbourne Stoke, Wiltshire, plus: Berwick Farm Shop - (0.6 Mile walk from the site).  There is also a mini-Market in Stapleford (2 Miles South) including filling station and motor vehicle repairs.   There are larger shopping facilities within Amesbury, Wilton, and Salisbury.  Other attractions close by: Fishing & Golf.  Loads of Lake and Chalk stream fishing.  Golf driving ranges (x2) & Golf Courses (x3) all within 15-minute drive. This site also permits dogs.

The Alpaca Farm is in Stapleford 4.5miles south at The Old Forge, Over Street, Stapleford SP3 4LR (Owners: Jo Eves and Jane Slater members of the Centre) Should you wish to visit the site, please give Jane a call on 07976 872 285) to arrange a visit.  Groups would be most welcome to see the Black Forge Alpaca – such beautiful animals and a pleasure to be with, with their gentle manner and quiet disposition.

We are looking forward to seeing you for your stay in South Wiltshire and a warm welcome to see the Alpaca boys and girls.
